$1.23 billion dollars Remittance earned in January
2 February 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladeshi expatriates have remitted over 1.23 billion dollars in January this year. This is a little less than their remittance in December and January last year.
Respectively $1.26 billion and $1.27 billion remittances were gained in January and December of last year .
But remittances in the first seven months of the current fiscal (July-January) were 10 percent more than that earned during the same period in the previous fiscal.
According to data released by the Bangladesh Bank on Monday, the country received $8.72 billion in remittances in the July-January period of the current fiscal year.
The expatriates remitted over $1.49 billion in July, the highest in a month in the history of Bangladesh.
The remittance in 2013-14 fiscal was 1.6 percent less than that of the 2012-13 fiscal.
