1.25 cr people beneficiaries of One House One Farm Project, Ashraf tells JS
03 March 2015,Nirapad News: LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam today told the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) that 1.25 crore poor people across the country are getting services from One House One Farm (Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar) Project for alleviating their poverty.
The government is implementing the project at ward level for alleviating poverty and promoting poor families to form associations, he said while replying to a question from treasury bench member Muhibur Rahman Manik in the House.
Under the scheme, 40,527 associations created across the country has a fund of Taka 2,016 crore, including Taka 600 crore own resources, Taka 600 crore incentive bonus from the government and Taka 816 crore as revolving fund, Ashraf said.
He said Taka 1,500 crore has been invested through over 13 lakh small income-generating associations on a priority basis.
Ashraf said the One House One Farm project is a plan envisioned by the Prime Minister.
The minister, however, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has established Palli Sanchya Bank to give the ‘Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar’ project a permanent shape.
