11 police personnel awarded for professional excellence
17 August 2015, Nirapad News: The Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police has awarded eleven of its personnel with medals acknowledging their professional excellence and courage in delivering their services.
Acting Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range Humayun Kabir distributed the awards at a ceremony arranged here on Sunday among the police personnel of all eight districts under Rangpur division as the chief guest.
He distributed medals among the policemen for laudable performances in maintaining law and order, taming violence and fighting terrorism and extortion and handling crimes like mugging, robbery and murder and drug trafficking.
Superintendent of Police of Panchagarh Gias Uddin received the best
district police award under Rangpur Range for maintaining excellent law and order situation, preventing other crimes, including drug trafficking and drug trading in the district.
The others who received the award are Sub-inspector (SI) Hossain Ali of Rangpur Kotwali Thana, SI Ershad Ali of the same Thana, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mithapukur Thana Humayun Kabir, Community Policing Officer of Hatibandha Thana in Lalmonirhat SI Anisur Rahman, DIO-1 of Lalmonirhat DSB Shamsul Haque, Court Officer of Panchagarh Sadar SI Nurul Islam, SI Siddikul Islam of Lalmonirhat Sadar Thana, Sergeant Sajal Kumar Bakhsi of Lalmonirhat Sadar Traffic Police, ASI Jahangir (3) of Rangpur Kotwali Thana and Constable Romel Uddin of Lalmonirhat DB Police.
Superintendents of Police (SP) from Rangpur, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur and Gaibandha districts under Rangpur Range attended the ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, Acting DIG for Rangpur Range Humayun Kabir directed the police forces for following the zero tolerance stand in curbing crimes to maintain law and order in Rangpur division.
He put special emphasis on stopping trafficking and trading of drugs and narcotics substances on zero tolerance principle and said that the police personnel will be awarded for good deeds and punished for their wrong doings, if any.
