Bangladesh on Sunday reported 6,684 COVID-19 cases while the coronavirus claimed overnight 187 lives.
The recent numbers pushed the country’s total fatality to 24,175 while the total cases stood at 1,418,902, according to a handout issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The country reported 20.25 percent COVID-19 positive cases as 33,001 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, DGHS said.
The official tally showed the virus killed 24,175 people and infected 14,18,902 so far, it added.
The case positivity reached its peak at 32.55% on July 24 last. Meanwhile, the case fatality rate remained unchanged at 1.70 % during the period, said the DGHS.
The recovery rate is showing a continuous improvement for the last few weeks as it stood at 91.11% Sunday with 11,371 new recoveries.
