2.5kg gold seized at Shahjalal Airport
11 March 2016, Nirapad News: Customs officials seized 6 gold bars, weighing around 2.5 kilogram, from a flight of Singapore Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the early hours of Friday.
Assistant Commissioner (Customs) Rezaul Karim told that a flight of the airlines landed at the airport around 11:40pm on Thursday.
Tipped off, the customs officials conducted a search in the aircraft and recovered the gold, worth Tk 1.25 crore, from beneath a seat of the plane, he said.
However, no one was arrested in this regard.
