2 Buses torched, Jagannath University Student suffers burn injuries
17 January 2015, Nirapad News : In Dhaka and Chittagong, two people, including a female student of Jagannath University, suffered burn injuries in separate incidents of arson attacks by miscreants in Dhaka and Chittagong cities on Friday night and Saturday during the nationwide non-stop blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
In the capital miscreants set fire to a bus at the Old Dhaka’s Rayerbagh area around 8:49am, leaving its two passengers injured. One of the injured, Sultana Jiba, a Master’s degree student of Jagannath University (JnU), was taken to Dhaka National Medical College Hospital, said officer-in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station Abani Sankar Kar. Informed, a fire-fighting unit rushed in and put out the blaze.
Another bus was torched by miscreants at Mirpur-13 around 7:30am. Later, fire-fighters doused the blaze. However, there was no report of any causality in the incident.
In Chittagong, a rickshaw-puller, Fazlur Rahman, 52, sustained burn injuries as miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at his rickshaw at Biswa Colony under Akbar Shah Police Station of the city around Friday midnight on his way back home. He was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), according to a news agency.
