2 kg gold seized at Shahjalal Airport
11 February 2015, Nirapad News: Customs officials arrested a man named Mintu, 36, a resident of Comilla district, along with two kilograms of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday.
Joint Commissioner (Customs) at the airport Kazi Ziauddin told that a flight of Bangladesh Airlines from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia landed at the airport around 8:30 am.
The customs officials searched the luggage of Mintu and recovered two kilograms of gold broken into pieces and melted from a rice cooker while he was going out of the airport.
The seized gold was said to be worth Tk one crore.
