The Health authorities have ordered the vaccination centres across the country to use Moderna COVID-19 vaccines as booster doses instead of Pfizer.
The Pfizer vaccines will have to be reserved for the first and second doses for students in school and college (ages 12-17) and other people who have already received one dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday sent an instruction in this regard to all directors of government medical colleges, the chief health officials at city colleges, government general hospitals, district central hospitals, hospitals with at least 250 beds, civil surgeons, upazila health and family welfare officials and medical officers of every municipality.
Those who are eligible for the booster will be notified by SMS and be able to get the shot at the same vaccination centre they received their previous doses at.
