The ongoing closure of educational institutions is likely to be extended for two more weeks as the coronavirus infection has not come under control across the country, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Wednesday.
Talking to journalists, she said, “The National Technical Consultation Committee on Covid-19 has suggested to monitor the situation for some more days. In such a situation, the ongoing closure may be extended by two more weeks.”
Dipu Moni further said, “As the infection rate is currently nearly 30 per cent, the closure of educational institutions is likely to be extended for two more weeks after February 6. However, we are reviewing the situation. If necessary, we can take a different decision.”
