26 rescued in Benapole while being trafficked to India
17 February 2015, Nirapad News: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive rescued 26 people, including 11 women and three children, while they were being trafficked to India through Sadipur border point here early Tuesday.
A team of BGB conducted a drive in the area early in the morning and rescued the 26 people, said Subedar Ayub Ali, of Benapole check post ICP camp of BGB.
However, the human traffickers managed to flee.
Later, the trafficking victims were handed over to Benapole port police station, said Rafiqul Islam, sub-inspector of Benapole port police station.
