2nd Bashundhara Open Golf Tournament from February 10

27 January 2015, Nirapad News: The second ‘Bashundhara Bangladesh Open’ golf tournament will begin at Kurmitola Golf Course in city on February 10.

Bangladesh Golf Tournament will organize the three-day tournament. Country’s largest business conglomerate
Bashundhara Group will sponsor the event for the second consecutive year.

Prize money of the tournament will be 300,000 USD.

These were asserted at a press conference on the tournament at Kurmitola Golf Club in city on Wednesday (January 27).

Bashundhara Group head of brand Selim Ullah Selim, manager Saiful Islam Rubel, ‘2nd Bashundhara Bangladesh Open 2016’ organizing committee member and also media committee chairman Brigadier General (retd) Salim Akhtar, Bangladesh Gold Federation joint secretary Brigadier General (retd) Mohammad Obaidul Haque and Golf Club Tournament committee president Brigadier General (retd) Abidur Reza Khan, among others, were present at the conference.

Organizing committee member Brigadier General (retd) Salim Akhtar said that a good number of noted golfers from
different parts of the globe will take part in this event.

‘This tournament will uphold Bangladesh’s image at a new height. It will also introduce the country as one of the
golfing destinations in Asia.’

Moreover, the tournament will usher window by creating opportunity to invest country’s sports, tourism and business sectors, he added.

Terming the upcoming golf tournament as largest in Asia, Salim Akhtar said that as many as 231 golfers from Asia,
Europe, America and Africa will attended the event.

‘At least 30 local golfers including 25 professional and five amateurs will take part in the tournament.’

However, country’s eminent golfer Siddikur Rahman, along with Sujit, Mazed, Dulal, Jamal, Milon and Liton Hawladar,
will participate in the tournament.
