The government will go for administering the second dose of the Covid-19 mass vaccination drive from September 7.

Directorate General of Health Services chief Professor Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam made the announcement at a programme at Central Medical Stores Depot (CMSD) on Wednesday.

Mentioning that more vaccines will arrive before second dose campaign starts, he said there will be no problems arranging the second dose.

He said: “We have 3.5 million shots in hand and another 5 million Sinopharm vaccines will arrive on 30 August, which will be enough to vaccinate them all.”

The government rolled out the countrywide Covid vaccination drive on August 7 to bring the people at the union level under the immunisation coverage in a short time.
