3 accused confess part in sixth grader girl’s ‘gang rape’
Three accused of a sixth grader girl’s ‘gang rape’ gave confessional statements before the court on Monday afternoon.
Khulna Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court -2 judge Tariqul Islam recorded the confessional statement, said Momtazul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sonadanga police station.
Among the nine accused, police arrested five. Of them, Nurur Nabi, 18, Sheikh Shahdat, 20, and Moin Hossain Hriday, 20, gave confessional statements before the court.
Police also sought a five-day remand of Rabbi Hasan Parash, 21, and Mahmud Hasan Akash, 21, for interrogation. Police are conducting drives to arrest the prime accused Shanto Biswas and others, the OC added.
The sixth- grader girl, student of a school in Khulna city, was acquainted with Shanto Biswas and later they developed a relationship.
Shanto called the girl to go out with him last Saturday. He took the girl to his friend’s house at Sher-E-Bangla Road in the city where he along with friends raped the girl by turns.
Hearing her screaming, locals informed the police. On information, police rescued the girl and admitted her to One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, different social organisations’ leaders visited the girl at the hospital. They demanded the immediate arrest of the rapists.
