3 people – 2 Truck drivers and helper injured in petrol bomb attack
4 March 2015, Nirapad News: Two truck drivers and helper suffered burn injuries in petrol bomb attacks in Comilla and Noakhali districts on Tuesday night.
In Comilla, a truck driver and his helper sustained injuries as miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the vehicle on Comilla-Sylhet road in Debidwar upazila around 8 pm.
The injured people were identified as driver Monir (45), son of Abu Taher of Bariora village in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria and helper Joy Mia (40), son of Chan Mia of Muin village in the same upazila.
Police and locals said the incident occurred when pickets tossed the bomb at the Brahmanbaria-bound truck at Yusufpur, leaving the duo injured.
They were taken to Debidwar Upazila Health Complex. Later, helper Joy was moved to Dhaka with 60 percent burn injuries.
In Noakhali, a truck driver, Ismail Hossain, suffered burn injuries as arsonists hurled a petrol bomb at the wheat-laden truck at Dattabari intersection in the district town around 9:15 pm. The injured man was admitted to Noakhali General Hospital.
Police opened fire at a youth, Mohammad Hossain, and wounded him while fleeing after allegedly hurling the petrol bomb at the truck. He was also sent to the same hospital.
