39 COVID deaths, 3,869 new cases

Bangladesh today confirmed 39 deaths from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 8,869. This is the highest number of daily deaths in the past 101 days.

According to the Health authorities, 3,674 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 591,806.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

In the last 24 hours, 1,971 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the same period, raising the total number of recoveries to 533,922, the release added.

Meanwhile, 24,664 samples were tested in 224 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 45,66,694 samples have been tested in the country so far.

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 in last year while first death on March 18 in that year.
