39 new deaths reported in 24 hrs, 2401 new Covid-19 patients
Health authorities in Bangladesh on Friday reported 2,401 new Covid-19 patients which took the number of total cases to 2,90,360 since the first detection of the disease in the country on March 8.
Besides, 39 more people died from the virus infections across the country in the last 24 hours, raising the death tally to 3,861.
Bangladesh is seeing 23 deaths per million after the first victim died on March 18.
Ninety-one labs tested 12,943 samples during the period and 14,20,499 samples have been tested in the country so far. Against the total number of tests, 20.44 percent have turned out to be positive.
The number of recoveries climbed to 1,72,615 as 3,624 more patients got cured in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate in Bangladesh has jumped to 59.45 percent.
The daily infection rate on Friday declined further to 18.55 percent while that of fatality stood at 1.33 percent.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the data in a media release.
Of the 39 new deceased, 25 aged above 60 years.
Since March 18, the handout said, 1,854 people died in Dhaka, while 863 in Chattogram, 251 in Rajshahi, 316 in Khulna, 151 in Barishal, 183 in Sylhet, 160 in Rangpur and 83 in Mymensingh divisions.
Among the new deceased, 36 died at hospitals and three at home.
Currently, 20,295 people are in isolation while over 53,729 are home and institutionally quarantined in the country.
