4-point declaration adopted by LDCs for WTO
15 December 2015, Nirapad News: On the eve of the 10th world trade organization (WTO) ministerial meeting here, a four-point declaration was adopted by the trade ministers of the least developed countries (LDCs) with Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed in the chair.
Director General, WTO, Roberto Azevedo, was also present as the guest of honor in the meeting. Trade ministers and delegates from 34 LDCs members were present at the meeting.
The points are: duty free and quota free market access, operationalization of service waiver, flexible rules of origin, cotton issue and that the WTO provisions will not apply for LDCs and agriculture.
Tofail Ahmed welcomed the delegates and expressed his deep satisfaction for being the coordinator of LDCs group in the WTO for the fourth time.
He emphasized on being united for mutual benefits of LDCs in the WTO.
