5-murder in N’ganj, Mahfuj on 7-day remand
19 January 2016, Nirapad News: A district court on Monday placed an accused Mahfuj on seven-day remand in a case filed over the murder of five members, including two minors, of a family at Baburail area of the town.
Senior judicial magistrate of Narayanganj HM Shafiqul Islam passed the remand order after the police produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.
Narayanganj court police inspector Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews in the evening.
Earlier, police detained Mahfuj from the spot on Saturday (January 16) night suspecting his involvement with the gruesome incident.
Besides, police detained victim Taslima and Morshedul’s cousin Delwar Hossain and Shahadat.
On Sunday (January 17), Taslima’s husband Shafiqul Islam filed a murder case with Narayanganj Sadar Model Thana against his nephew Mahfuj, one Nazma, hailed from Kalabagan of Dhaka and Shahjahan.
Later in the night, superintendent of police (SP) ordered to handover the case to district DB police.
On Saturday (January 16) night, police recovered bodies of Taslima, her minor son Shanta and daughter Sumaiya, brother Morshedul alias Mosharaf and sister-in-law Lamia.
