5 on 7-day remand in Ananta murder case
16 Septembar 2015, Nirapad News: A Sylhet court on Wednesday placed five suspected murderers of blogger Ananta Bijoy on a seven-day remand for police interrogation.
Sylhet Metropolitan magistrate-2 acting judge Anwarul Haque passed the order after hearing a remand petition.
The remanded persons include Aminul Mallik, Ariful Islam, Touhidur Rahman, Sadek Ali Mithu and Jakirullah Gama.
Of them, Gama was shown arrested in the Ananta killing case, said investigation officer (IO) of the case Criminal Investigation Department (CID) inspector Arman Ali.
On August 17, Touhidur Rahman and Aminul Mallik were arrested as masterminds of blogger Avijit killing. Of them, Touhidur Rahman is Bangladesh-origin British national and IT expert.
On May 12, blogger Ananta Bijioy has been hacked to death in Sylhet, country’s third such deadly attack since the start of the year.
