50,000 Yaba tablets seized in Teknaf
Teknaf, 10 May 2015, Nirapad News: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 50,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from Jhauban area of Shah Parir Dwip in Teknaf upazila early Sunday.
A team of the border force conducted a drive in the area and seized a boat along with 50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets which were being smuggled into the country from Myanmar at about 4:00 am, said commanding officer of BGB-42 Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jar Al Zahid. Sensing presence of the BGB men, the smugglers fled the scene.
The estimated market value of the recovered Yaba tablets is Tk 1.50 crore, Abu jar added. Meanwhile, a team of the BGB in separate drive recovered 10,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from a house at Jelepara in Shah Parir Dwip area of the upazila on Saturday night.
They also arrested two women and a 12-year boy from the spot. Separate cases were filed.
