6 Shibir leaders held over sabotage plan in the city
28 November 2015, Nirapad News: Police arrested six leaders of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, in possession of 11 crude bombs from Arambagh area of the city on Friday over sabotage plan.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Rasel Amin, president of Paltan thana unit of Shibir, Abdur Rahman and Afzal Hossain, president and general respectively of Motijhil thana unit of the organisation, Abdul Kaiyum, general secretary of its ward 8 unit, Alamgir Hossain, president of ward 9 unit, and Masudur Rahman, a leader of the same unit.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a special drive in the area from Friday morning to Friday evening and arrested the six Shibir leaders while they were gathering in the area for holding a secret meeting, said inspector (Investigation) of Motijhil Police Station Proloy Kumar Saha.
The law enforcers also recovered 11 crude bombs from their possession.
Police will produce the arrested before a court today, said the inspector.
