72 held with arms, ammos at Ctg College.

18 March 2015, Nirapad News: Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) detained a total of 72 suspected leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir with a huge amount of arms and ammunition from Chittagong College in the port city.

DB police picked up them during a nightlong drive conducted there from Tuesday night to early Wednesday.

During the drives, police also recovered a AK-22 semi-automatic rifle, a three knot three (.303) rifle, three pistols, three single barreled guns, three domestic-made guns, a double-barreled rifle, five rocket flares, 61 cartridges and 25 rounds of bullets.  SM Tanvir, additional deputy commissioner (DB) of CMP, confirmed the matter.

Tanvir said that police had information that some people were gathering huge arms and ammos inside the campus to carry out sabotages.

Police then raided the campus and held the suspected Shibir men, the DB ADC added.
