Legal notice served on govt to keep educational institutions close

A legal notice has been served on the government requesting to keep close all the educational institutions across the country until eradicating of coronavirus pandemic.

Supreme Court lawyer Khandaker Hasan Shahriar sent the notice to the authorities concerned for taking steps to ensure 100 per cent online classes keeping the institutions close during this pandemic..

He confirmed this to media on Thursday morning.

On January 11, lawyer Faruque Alamgir Chowdhury sent a legal notice on behalf of Abdul Kaiyum Sarkar, principal of Vawal Mirzapore Public School and College, to the education secretary and director general of the directorate of education for taking necessary steps to reopen the educational institutions.

As the government did not take any steps on the notice, lawyer Khandaker Hasan filed the writ petition on January 21.
