ACC approves chargesheet against Tarique’s mother-in-law
15 January 2016, Nirapad News: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Thursday approved chargesheet against the mother-in-law of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman for not submitting wealth statement.
The chargesheet will be pressed to the court soon.
Earlier, ACC deputy director Abdus Sattar Sarker recommended for chargesheet on basis of probe report submitted to the commission.
On January 30, 2014, ACC deputy director RK Majumdar filed a case against Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu with Ramna Thana in city for not submitting wealth statement to it in time.
On January 25, 2013, the anti-graft watchdog issued a notice asking Banu to submit her wealth statement to it.
Later, the High Court stayed the operation of the ACC notice responding to a writ petition filed by Banu challenging its validity.
Then, upon an ACC petition seeking an opportunity for leave-to-appeal, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court overrode the High Court stay order on September in 2013.
