Acid victim housewife dies at DMCH
15 November 2015, Nirapad News: A housewife, who sustained burns in an acid attack allegedly by her husband, succumbed her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early hours of Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Majeda Begum, 25, hailed from Shalikha upazila of Magura district. She resided with her husband Sohag and their two offspring in Ashulia.
Deceased’s cousin Ekramul told banglanews that following the dispute over demand of dowry, Sohag allegedly hurled acid to Majeda on October 25, causing serious burn injuries in her nose, ears and neck.
Quoting DMCH doctors, he further said that 25 percent of the body of his sister was burnt in the acid attack.
The body has been kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy, said hospital sources.
Ashulia Thana sub inspector (SI) Azharul Islam told that drive is underway to arrest Sohag.
