Action against obsolete vehicles resumed

13 August 2015, Nirapad News: Authorities concerned have resumed conducting drives against obsolete vehicles that ply on roads in capital and port cities on Thursday morning.
A mobile court, led by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) executive magistrate Matiur Rahman, started the drive in front of Ruposhi Bangla hotel in city around 11:00am.
Meanwhile, Chittagong district administration, led by executive magistrate Tamim Al Yamin, started the drive to seize obsolete vehicles in Tigerpass area of the port city Chittagong at the same time.
Tamim told they were conducting drive against unfit and illegal vehicles.
“We are taking actions against drivers seizing their licenses and vehicles,” he added.
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) officials also were seen on the spot.
On the other hand, executive magistrate Ruhul Amin, also deputy revenue collector, was leading a mobile court in the drive against illegal parking in Kotowali and court building areas of the port city.
He told banglanews that he fined 25 drivers for parking illegally till 11:30am.
