AL-BNP clash kills 2 in Natore: deceased claimed to be BNP activists
05 January 2015, Nirapad News : Two people have been shot dead and 22 others injured in a clash between ruling Awami League and BNP at Tebbaria area under sadar upazila in Natore.
The deceased are Rakib and Raihan.
Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Foridul Islam said the clash ensued around 10am in the area on Monday.
District BNP General Secretary Aminul Hoque claimed the deceased to be the activists of BNP.
However, the reason behind the clash could not be ascertained yet.
Tension has been prevailing across the country due to the political anarchy and confrontation centring the counter programmes declared by Awami League and BNP.
The BNP had declared to observe January 5 as the “democracy killing day” while the Awami League was set to celebrate “victory day of democracy.”
Meanwhile, the communication through major road and waterways connecting to Dhaka also came to a halt since Sunday morning.
