AL describes Oikyafront’s manifesto as treachery
Awami League Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman today said Jatiya Oikyafront is betraying countrymen with its manifesto as it declared continuation of trial process of war criminals and establishment of a corruption-free society.
“Jatiya Oikyafront is misleading the people of the country declaring many promises at their election manifesto…Their declaration to continue the trial process of the war criminals, not to take revenge and to create a corruption-free society are only travesty of truth to the common people,” he said while speaking at a press conference at AL president political office in city’s Dhanmondi.
AL joint general secretary Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organising Secretaries Ahmad Hossain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim and BM Mozammel Haque, Deputy Publicity Secretary Aminul Islam Amin and AL central leader Golam Rabbani Chinu, among others, were present at the press conference.
Rahman said, “The countrymen don’t believe that BNP will continue the trial process of the war criminals as many leaders of Jamaat and children of war criminals are contesting the polls with ‘Sheaf of Paddy, the electoral symbol of BNP. So, their promise is ridicules.”
The AL leader said the country became champions in corruption for five times during BNP-Jamaat regime. BNP leader Tarique Rahman is now leading a fugitive life in London for his corruption, he added.
Rahman said the people of the country is ready to elect Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina again for her continues development activities. So that BNP and Jatiya Oikyafront are hatching conspiracy to foil the polls, he added.
He urged the countrymen to remain alert against all types of conspiracies centering the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections stated for December 30.
