AL takes two-day programme on Independence Day

25 March 2018, Nirapad News: Awami League has drawn up a two-day elaborate programme to celebrate the Independence and National Day in a befitting manner.

The programme will begin with hoisting of national and party flags atop of Bangabandhu Bhaban, party’s central office and offices across the country in the dawn.

Awami League leaders and workers will pay tributes to Liberation War martyrs by placing wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar at 6am and at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi road number-32 at 7am.

A delegation of the party will pay homage to the Mausoleum of Bangabandhu at Tungipara of Gopalganj district.

Awami League Presidium Member Lt Col (retd) Muhammad Faruq Khan, Central Working Committee member Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Labour and Manpower Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, Central Working Committee members SM Kamal Hossain and Advocate Md. Amirul Islam Milon are the delegates.

On March 27, a discussion will be held at Krishibid Institution auditorium in city’s Farmgate Khamarbari.

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will chair the discussion while party central leaders and eminent personalities will address it.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader requested all organisational units and associates bodies and the people to observe the party’s programme on the Independence and National Day with due respect.
