Another Wari burn victim dies at DMCH
15 December 2015, Nirapad News: A man, who along with his two roommates sustained burn injuries as miscreants set their mess afire at Narinda intersection in the city’s Wari area on December 10, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday morning. The deceased is Shahidul Islam, 20.
Sources at the DMCH said Shahidul, who was undergoing treatment at the hospital burn unit with 85 per cent burn, succumbed to the injuries at about 6:00 am.
Earlier on December 10, Sumon, a roommate of the deceased, who was undergoing treatment at the DMCH burn unit with 85 per cent burn, succumbed to the injuries at the hospital around 4:30 pm.
Shahidul, Sumon, and Shakib Shikder sustained severe burn injuries as miscreants set their room afire in the area in the dead of night on December 10.
Officer-in-charge of Wari Police Station Jihad Hossain said, a group of unknown miscreants locked the victims’ mess room from outside and set fire to it at about 4:30am while the trio, the mess members, was sleeping, leaving them seriously injured.
The injured were admitted to the burn unit of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Shakib Shikder sustained burns to 32 per cent of his body.
