Arefin Siddique gets SUSWM World Peace Award
14 March 2016, Nirapad News: Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique was given SUSWM World Peace Award for his outstanding contribution to enlighten society by distributing knowledge and rendering humanitarian services aimed at establishing peace in the society, according to a message received here from Kolkata today.
Director of Kolkata-based Siddharta United Social Welfare Mission (SUSWM) Dr. Buddhapriya Mahathera conferred the award to Professor Siddique at a function held on Sunday at the Maysair Convention Hall of Chinar Park of Kolkata.
During his long career in teaching profession and as Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University the noted educationist Professor Siddique has been serving to distribute and share knowledge to enlighten society, stirring humanity and secularism to establish peace and better environment for human, said the message.
Prominent among other personalities from South Asia who received the SUSWM World Peace Award are Minister for Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media of Sri Lanka Karuna Tilleka Gayantha, former Chief Justice of Bhutan Sonam Tbgye, Director General (Admin) of Prime Minister’s Office of Bangladesh Kabir Bin Anwar.
The SUSWM, an internationally reputed social organization has introduced the global peace award in peace and solidarity categories to honour those who are making excellent contribution to establish peace by spreading education and distributing knowledge, upholding secularism, communal harmony and humanity.
