Art competition held in Mymensingh
20 December 2015, Nirapad News: Marking the 101st birth centenary function of Shilpacharya Jainul Abedin, an art competition on his life and works was held at Jainul Abedin Sangrahashala (art gallery) in the town on Friday.
Bangladesh National Museum organised the programme.
Dr Bijoy Krishna Banik, Deputy Keeper of the art gallery, inaugurated the competition as chief guest. Artists Charupath-Badal Chakraborty, Neel Komol Roy and Didarul Hossain Limon were present at the inaugural session, among others.
Jainul was born on December 29, 1914 in Mymensingh and studied at Mymensingh Mritunjoy School.
The students of Jainul Shishu Charupith, an art school, took part in the competition in five groups.
A discussion meeting will be held on the art gallery premises on December 29.
