Nirapad News: The ruling Awami League on Sunday decided not to hold its scheduled rallies at 16 points of the capital on Monday due to the ban imposed by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). “Awami League is always a law-abiding political party. This time the party will also follow the instruction of the law enforcement agencies,” Awami League deputy office secretary Mrinal Kanti Das said on Sunday. He also welcomed the DMP ban saying, “The decision has been taken considering the ground reality. We’ll cooperate with the government in this regard.” Earlier in the day, the DMP imposed a ban on holding all types of public rally and gathering in Dhaka city from 5 pm today until further notice. The ruling Awami League had earlier announced to hold rallies at 16 points of the capital city on Monday marking the first anniversary of the 10th parliamentary polls, acoording to a news agency.
