Awami League leader killed in Comilla clash
30 September 2015, Nirapad News: A local unit leader of ruling Awami League (AL) was killed and eight more injured in a clash between the villagers of Salehpur and Tangirparh in Laksam upazila of Comilla district.
The deceased Anwar Hossain (42) was Salehpur ward unit AL leader and died under medical treatment on Tuesday morning.
Laksam Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Monowar Hossain told banglanews that a group of youth of Tangirparh locked into altercation with youths of Salehpur who were passing a bridge at Tangirparh, triggering a clash between the villagers Monday night.
On information, Anwar Hossain reached the place to know about the matter, the OC added.
According to him, at one stage, the youths of Tangirparh village attacked on Anwar leaving him injured.
‘After taking primary aid, the Salehpur ward unit AL leader returned home.’
He fell sick Tuesday early morning and admitted to Laksam Hospital, where he succumbed to his injures, the OC stated.
