AL leader killed in Rajshahi road crash

28 November 2015, Nirapad News: A local Awami League leader was killed and five other people were injured in a road crash at Pullapukur area on the Rajshahi-Pabna Highway in Puthia upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Shafiqul, publicity secretary of Naohata municipality unit of Awami League.

Officer-in charge of Puthia police station Hafizur Rahman said the accident took place when a Pabna-bound bus from Rajshahi collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in the area around 5pm and the bus fell into a roadside ditch, leaving the motorcycle rider Shafiqul dead on spot and five bus passengers injured.

Later, locals rescued the injured and sent them to a local hospital.
