Bangabandhu Sainik League holds demonstration near Khaleda’s office
10 February 2015, Nirapad News: Bangabandhu Sainik League staged a demonstration near BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office on Tuesday demanding withdrawal of the ongoing nationwide transport blockade and hartal.
Nearly a hundred people, led by Bangabandhu Sainik League acting president MA Kashme, gathered near Gulshan-2 crossing around 11:30am. As they tried to march towards Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office at road-No 86, police intercepted them near road-No 92. Later, the leaders and activists of the Bangabandhu Sainik League demonstrated there raising various slogans against hartal, blockade and street violence.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been staying at her Gulshan office since January 3. She enforced a countrywide non-stop transport blockade from January 6 as the government did not allow her party-led 20-party alliance to hold a rally in the city on January 5.
A number of pro-ruling party organizations, mainly worker ones, have been staging demonstrations near the BNP chief’s office every day for the last few days demanding withdrawal of the hartal and blockade programmes.
