Globe Biotech Limited will be given approval in principle for the clinical trial of its invented coronavirus vaccine ‘Bangavax’.
Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) Chairman Dr Syed Modasser Ali informed this to the media on Sunday, reports private Somoy TV.
In October last year, World Health Organization (WHO) named three vaccines developed by the lone Bangladeshi vaccine company Globe Biotech on their “draft landscape of COVID-19 candidate vaccines.
On January 17, the local biotech firm informed that it submitted protocol for the clinical trial of its Covid-19 vaccine ‘Bangavax’.
Globe Biotech had announced the development of the candidate on July 2, last year. Later on October 5, the company said the vaccine proved to be “effective” and “completely safe” after trials on rabbits and mice and ready to start the first phase of human modelling trial.
