Bangladesh advances in all MDG targets
16 Septembar 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh has advanced in attaining all of the targets of millennium development goals (MDG).
Advancement in some targets is lower while higher in some other targets, said general economic division (GED) senior secretary of planning commission Shamsul Alam at a program of releasing ‘MDG’s: Bangladesh Progress Report-2015’.
With planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair, the program was attended by finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali, Bangladesh Bank (BB) governor Dr Atiur Rahman and finance and planning state minister MA Mannan, among others.
According to the report, Bangladesh has made remarkable progresses in the areas of poverty alleviation, ensuring food security, primary education to all, gender parity and women empowerment, reduction of infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate, improving mothers’ health and reducing the communicable diseases including HIV/AIDS-malaria, ensuring environmental sustainability and in building-up partnership around the world for environment development.
