Bangladesh beat Oman (D/L) to enter the Super 10
14 March 2016, Nirapad News: It was a knockout match between Bangladesh and Oman in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016. Bangladesh though made sure that they played clinically to beat Oman by 54 runs (D/L method) to enter the Super 10 stage of the tournament.
Set a target of 120 in 12 overs (due to rain), Oman were restricted to 65/9 in 12 overs before the heavens opened. The highest scorer of the innings was Jatinder Singh. He made 25. The pick of the bowlers was Shakib Al Hasan. He had figures of 4 for 15 in 3 overs.
Earlier, being put into bat, Bangladesh made 180 for 2 in 20 overs. Tamim Iqbal was the star of the show. He made 103 not out. Playing good support cast was Sabbir Rahman. He scored 44.
So, the qualifiers are done and dusted. The main event kicks off on Tuesday. India will take on New Zealand in the first game. Afghanistan was the other team to make the Super 10 yesterday. Interestingly, the tournament will now have five teams from Asia in the Super 10 stage.
