13 November 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by four wickets in the first Twenty20 encounter of the three-match series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.
Bangladesh have lost five wickets within 100-run mark in chasing 132-run target but they were on course in chase with 118 runs in sixth wicket stand.
Zimbabwe managed to score 131 losing all wickets in 19.3 overs in the 1st T20 match against Bangladesh. The visitors’ top-order was jolted early.
In reply to Zimbabwe’s 131 runs, Tigers stumbled for a moment losing three wickets- Anamul Haque, Sabbir Rahman and Mushfiqur Rahim- for just 54 runs.
Leading 31 runs from Tamim Iqbal stabled Bangladesh.
After quick fall of top-order, Nasir Hossain, Mahmudullah and Liton Das anchored and helped Bangladesh reach the target with 14 balls to spare in their innings.
Nasir Hossain blasted 16 off 12 balls and Mahmudullah was not-out for 21 runs from 20 balls while Liton Das gathered 17 from 22.
Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza dismissed Sikandar Raza and Chigumbura while Al-Amin Hossain picked the wicket of Chakabva for a duck. Nasir sent SC Williams to the pavilion at 15 and Mahmudullah took CR Ervine at 20. LM Jongwe went back to the pavilion for a duck. Jubair Hossain took the wicket.
Debutant Jubair Hossain has struck twice in an over in the game.
The legspinner trapped Luke Jongwe in front for a duck before Neville Madziva (1) holed out to Nasir Hossain at long-off in the last ball of the 16th over.
Earlier, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza decided to field first. “There was some dew last game and we want to bowl. The wicket will be good to bat on,” said Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza.
