Bangladesh elected VP of UNESCO General Conference
05 November 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh Education Minister and head of the Bangladesh delegation to the UNESCO General Conference Nurul Islam Nahid has been elected Vice-President (VP) of the ongoing 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference at its headquarters in Paris.
He is leading the Bangladesh delegation in the General Conference which will continue till November 18. The conference began on November 3,
a press release said here today.
Ministers and senior officials of the 195 member states, 8 associate members and representatives of various UN agencies, media and NGOs are taking part in the conference.
Bangladesh will serve as the Vice-President of the UNESCO General Conference for the 2015-2017 term.
