Bangladesh media now enjoying best ever freedom: Menon
10 May 2015, Nirapad News: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said here today the mass media of Bangladesh is now enjoying the best ever freedom compared to anytime in the past.
“Journalists are now working with the freedom of expressing their opinions freely. No medium got such freedom in the past. Despite the fact some humanitarian organizations have been raising question over the press freedom at different times which is unfortunate,” he said while addressing a function as the chief guest marking the 10th anniversary of the Bengali daily Bhorer Pata here.
State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was also present at the meeting.
“It is necessary to publish objective news to create, increase and hold readers,” he opined, adding that the newspaper business has been established as an industry in Bangladesh.”
“The style of collecting news and publishing those have changed due to information and communication technology. Speed became an important element alongside the objectivity of news,” Menon, also president of Workers Party of Bangladesh said.
