Bangladesh, Pakistan likely XI

16 March 2016, Nirapad News: Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in a Group 2 match in the ongoing ICC World T20 2016 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday (March 16). The kick-off time is 3.00pm local, 3.30pm BdST, 9.30 GMT.

For the Tigers, who beat the Green Shirts in the recently concluded Asia Cup and finished runners-up in the tournament, it will be a special occasion. The team from the erstwhile East Bengal will play at the famous venue in West Bengal after 25 years! And their opponents in the erstwhile West Pakistan will also make the occasion special.

Pakistan will be wary of the strengths and weaknesses of Bangladesh. The Shahid Afridi-led outfit might not have had the best of times in T20 cricket recently but the 2009 edition champions would know it is the right time to answer back their critics.

If Mustafizur Rahman is declared fit, it will be a straight swap between him and Abu Haider Rony. However, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza wasn’t sure on Tuesday whether or not Mustafizur would play against Pakistan. Bangladesh are likely to field four quicks, and Arafat Sunny may be sidelined again.
