Bangladesh set target of 247 against Pakistan
9 February 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh is playing their first official practice match ahead of the ICC World Cup today against Pakistan in Sydney. After winning the toss Bangladesh choose to bat and scored 246 runs in 49.5 over. Bangladesh lost their way a bit in the last few overs. After the fall of Shakib they lost wickets and failed to reach the 250-run mark. Still its a decent total. Bangladesh have a good bowling attack. Pakistan needs to bat well to achieve this target.
The Tigers will take on Ireland on February 12 in the second practice match also in Sydney before facing off Afghanistan in their World Cup opener on February 18 at Canberra. In the last two weeks Bangladesh trained in Brisbane and played two self arranged practice matches against Cricket Australia XI.
Bangladesh team lost both the matches with the top order batsmen failing to do their job properly.
Mominul Haque in the first match and Nasir Hossain in the second match hammered two 50 plus knocks and no other batsman could set in the wicket before departing for dressing room.
Meanwhile, hosts Australia riding on two sparkling centuries by Glenn Maxwell and David Warner outplayed India by 106 runs in their first practice match in Adelaide. Australia batted first to amass a gigantic 371 before being all out. And in reply, the home team booked India for 265.
