Bangladesh to face Zimbabwe in 2nd ODI Monday
09 November 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh will take on visiting Zimbabwe in the 2nd ODI with an advantage of 1-0 lead in the three-match series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday.
The match will start at 9:00am (Local Time).
The Tigers will miss the world best all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for the remaining matches of the series as he has to leave for USA tonight, to take care of his wife Shishir who will give birth- a baby girl- of their first child, is scheduled to deliver on November 22 if everything remains okay.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) released all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan from the national squad for the series against Zimbabwe due to a family emergency, said BCB media release on Sunday.
All-round Anamul Hoque Bijoy has been named as Shakib’s replacement in the squad.
Bijoy last played an international match for the Tigers against Scotland in the last World Cup, and then had to be sidelined due to injury. Bijoy was also in the squad of South Africa series but wasn’t played any match.
Shakib is going back to the USA tonight at 9:00pm to with his wife Shishir, Bangladesh national cricket team manager Khaled Mahmud Sujon confirmed.
Though Shakib’s wife being pregnant, he flew back to Dhaka from New York, USA to take part in Bangladesh ODI series against Zimbabwe and the iconic all-rounder clinched his maiden five-wicket haul for a huge 145 runs victory for Bangladesh in the first match on Saturday.
Bangladesh have to make one change in the best XI with Shakib’s departing the day before the game. Imrul Kayes or the leg-spinner Jubair Hossain could include as the selectors is likely to be inclined to batting cover rather than an extra bowler.
On the other hand, there will be one enforced change for Zimbabwe due to Richmond Mutumbami’s ankle edema. Regis Chakabva is likely to replace him as wicketkeeper.
Zimbabwe could also think of adding an extra bowler from the three spinners and the pacer they have in the reserves.
