Bangladesh to get 100 MW power from India from December
29 November 2015, Nirapad News: Bangladesh will start getting 100 MW electricity daily from Palatana Power Station in Tripura of India from next month.
Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Power Ministry Ahmed Kaikuas told reporters today emerging from a secretary-level meeting between Bangladesh and India here.
Bangladesh Power Secretary Monwarul Islam led the Bangladesh side at the meeting that discussed progress of ongoing power projects of the two neighbouring countries.
Kaikuas said Bangladesh is already getting 500 MW power from Bheramara Grid. India has given consent to provide 500 MW more electricity from the same line, he said.
During the meeting, officials of the two sides discussed the progress of construction of 1200 MW power station in Rampal of Bangladesh with the assistance of India.
Besides, discussion was held about construction of 3000 MW power station in Bangladesh by two private companies of India.
