Bangladesh will start administering first dose of Chinese vaccine from May 25, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque.

The Minister disclosed the matter in a briefing at his office on Monday.

Zahid Maleque said, “The Chinese vaccine, already reached the country, will be started administering from May 25. We have talked to some other countries including Russia, China, the UK and USA for procuring vaccine and it will be finalised soon.”

“We’ve also talked to India and the UK for second dose. The Prime Minister herself is handling the matter,” he added.

Minister Zahid also said, “So far, we received 70 lakh doses vaccine from India against our order for 3 crores. We’re also worried about the second dose.”
