Bangladesh Women to take on Sri Lanka tonight
10 March 2016, Nirapad News: Ahead of the ICC Women’s World T20 2016, Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team are scheduled to play two warm-up matches, first of which will take place tonight (March 10) against Sri Lanka. The match will be held at M Chinnaswami Stadium in Bangalore, and will kick off at 8pm in the evening.
The other warm-up game will happen two days later, on March 12, against Ireland. That match too will be hosted by the same venue. Earlier on March 8, the Bangladesh eves reached Bangalore for participation in their second ICC World T20 2016.
As host nation, they didn’t have to go through the qualifying round in the 2014 edition. But this time they had to compete in the Qualifiers in Thailand late last year to get into the main draw.
In the group stage of the competition, Bangladesh have been bracketed into Group B alongside the hosts India, and the giants like Pakistan, England and the West Indies.
Bangladesh will start their campaign in the tournament proper on March 15, against the hosts India in the same venue of Bangalore. Jahanara Alam is leading the Tigresses in the tournament.
