Bangladeshi killed in Singapore
04 August 2015, Nirapad News: A Bangladeshi laborer was killed and another one injured after falling off the third floor of an under construction building at Potong Pasir area of Singapore.
The deceased was identified as Nantu, 33, hailed from Chandiduar village under Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria district while the injured was identified as Rajib.
A co-worker, Roman, said both Nantu and Rajib fell off the building while they were working around 5:00pm local time of July 31, leaving both injured.
They were taken to hospital where Nantu succumbed to his injuries. Rajib is still under treatment.
However, the deceased’s body brought to Bangladesh Monday night with the assistance of Bangladesh embassy in Singapore.
Embassy sources said Nantu will get insurance money but it will take some time to process the whole matter.
The sources also said five Bangladeshis were died in Singapore in last one month. Of them, two were killed in accidents while three died naturally.
Everyone’s body was sent to the country, sources added.
