Barcelona defender Pique fined £7,600 for abusing police officers
Nirapad News : Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has been fined €10,500 (£7,600) for abusing police officers.
The car in which Pique was travelling was slapped with a parking ticket outside a nightclub, and a confrontation between the former Manchester United man and the police followed.
The centre back later wrote an apology to the court hearing in Barcelona for the public order offence, which took place in October last year.
Spanish judge Maria Asuncion Gonzalez handed out the fine, and said Pique had been “disrespectful and verbally aggressive” towards the officers.
The car belonged to Pique’s brother, who was given the ticket for parking in bus lane in Port Olimpic, an area known for its bars and nightclubs.
